Ron Bierstine has 35+ years experience as a Great Lakes trout and salmon tributary angler and has been a NYSLOG since 1997. He enjoys all techniques like fly fishing, centerpin or spin fishing to cast and drift. Ron has owned and operated Oak Orchard Tackle & Lodge since 1998, is the Sportfishing Coordinator for Orleans County (part time) and Dockmaster at the Orleans County Marine Park. Ron has a bachelor's degree from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University and worked for an environmental consulting firm for 8 years. Most recently he has been a member of the Lake Ontario Bi-National Stakeholders Committee, the Lake Ontario Fishery Management Focus Group and the Lake Ontario Fisheries Advisory Board - all by NYSDEC invite. And Ron was a member of the Governor's Task Force for the "Reimagine the Canals" - Fishing, which secured Erie Canal water feed for WNY north flowing tributaries.
