My father started fishing salmon and trout in the Great Lakes pretty much from the beginning - he claims officially 1971, but I believe he was at it before then. As for me, my first memories as a child were on his boat in the early/mid 80's, but I don't claim my start until 1993 when I was allowed to run the equipment and set the spreads myself. This upcoming season will be my 25th fishing with him on the Great Lakes. We started experimenting with meat in the late 90's, and started to get a solid handle within a couple years. Since then we've developed a pretty solid approach - from concept, bait prep, spread incorporation, and targeting strategies. Roughly 4 years ago I started putting this knowledge into developing our product (Musselhead Tackle).
