Oren Barris

NYS Licensed Guide since 1990. Owner/Proprietor of Paths, Peaks & Paddles Inc.

Oren Barris is a New York State Guide licensed in flat and whitewater canoeing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, backpacking camping and fishing. Born the son of a NYS Guide, Oren grew up with a paddle in his hands and has dedicated his life to helping people make the transition from land based into paddlers. He has personally taught thousands of people canoeing and kayaking by providing personal and group instructions covering kayak and canoe roll clinics and safety and rescue courses. He has written programs for the Boy Scouts of America covering both on and off the water programs.

2024 we will be starting our 33rd year in business. Oren pioneered for WNY what it truly means to have a local presence and expertise in canoeing, kayaking, white water canoeing/kayaking, camping, hiking, and snowshoeing.

Because of Oren's expertise individuals of all ages benefited from instructional classes on the water, on land and in the wilderness.

Today, Oren continues to provide guidance and expert advise to all customers who visit our store, call or email us.
