Liam Purdy

My name is Liam Purdy, and I am a member of the NY BASS Youth Program. I am a Junior at Canandaigua Academy, and I help on our family dairy farm. I have been fishing since I can remember with my family. It is something I enjoy doing both by myself to relax, as well as fishing with friends. From walking to ponds on our farms to being on different lakes and even ocean charters, I am always up for any type of fishing.
At the end of December, I had the opportunity to fish for sharks in the Florida Keys. I have been participating in the NY Bass Youth Program for three years, with my best being 2nd place. Every part of this program is great, from the competitions with others my age, to being able to fish in new and different locations, to learning from others, and getting to know others who enjoy fishing as well.
Along with my teammate, Gavin Hinnman, we will be participating in the 2026 NY BASS Youth season together. Our goal this season is to place top three at one or more tournaments, with an ultimate goal of making it to Nationals.
