Dr. Kate Littrell is a Senior Environmental Scientist working for the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and she manages the NYS Canal System's aquatic invasive species (AIS) program. She holds a PhD in ecology and evolutionary biology, with a specialty in aquatic ecology. Prior to joining NYPA, she was a research scientist at Yale University studying river herring ecology and conservation in Connecticut. Kate is currently developing a System-wide AIS Rapid Response Plan for the NYS Canal System, building partnerships with other state agencies and stakeholder groups, and contributing to public education and outreach initiatives for AIS.
