John Forbes

Captain John Forbes, owner and operator of Times Two Charters, is a life-long resident of Dunkirk, NY, with over 39 years of Great Lakes fishing experience. It doesn't matter if he is on the lake looking for that first salmon or walleye of the season, fishing with his long time tournament partners, running summer charters for walleye on Lake Erie or spring charters on Lake Ontario, Captain John loves fishing and sharing it with others.

A fully licensed United States Coast Guard Captain, Captain John started Times Two Charters in 2004. The goal at the beginning was simple, work hard for your clients, treat them like you would want to be treated, and of course, catch a few fish! The number of returning clients each year is a testament that this approach has worked! Our philosophy is "we are fishing with you, not for you."

Times Two Charters is a full service fishing charter. For 2024, we will offer trips on Lake Ontario from Wilson NY for trout/salmon from late April to late May; and walleye charters on Lake Erie from Dunkirk, NY from mid-June to late September about our 29' Tiara! All equipment supplied.

An avid angler, Captain John still finds time to fish for fun too, whether for northern pike in Ontario, striped bass in Virginia, saltwater fishing in South Carolina, or simply chasing steelhead on the local tributaries, often with his son! He is fortunate to have a great wife, Lisa, who has recognized his need to stay on the water!

Captain John is a member of the Erie PA Charter Boat Association (EPCBA), Eastern Lake Erie Charter Boat Association, Lake Ontario Charter Boat Association, and Lake Ontario Trout and Salmon Association and is proud to be on the pro-staff for Pro-staff for Gamma Fishing Line!
