Growing up in the South, Garry spent a lot of time fishing on local lakes in Virginia and North Carolina, as well as on the Chesapeake Bay. He spent a lot of time working on his father's boats while in high school. From there he went to Virginia Tech for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, while fishing took a back seat. After moving up North, he got back into fishing, being encouraged by a buddy who was into trolling. After deciding that he still liked fishing but was not into trolling, he started with a canoe, then a small aluminum boat with only a trolling motor. It was on that small boat that he got his first marine electronics unit and started applying his years of engineering knowledge to rigging. This quickly snowballed into several bass boats , joining a bass club, doing lots of tournaments, and helping anglers with issues and problems with their electronics and boats. Now, he has a small business where he rigs a limited number of boats, teaches and consults on electronics, and has a growing YouTube channel. While he prefers Lowrance installations, he has installed the three main brands. He has rigged several boats in the Buffalo area including guide boats, both fiberglass and aluminum hulls. Customers appreciate his attention to detail and methods to create installations that stand up to rough water like Lake Erie, Lake Champlain, Lake Ontario, and Key West.
Garry is on the pro-staff for Lowrance, Impulse Fishing Rods, SIMMS, and Gajo Baits. He is also a dealer for Bass Fishin Electronics. He helped design a dropshot rod for Impulse rods. For Lowrance, you may find him visiting stores to assist with training store staff and working with customers. He also does support for Angler's Choice Marine and has trained several of their staff. He developed the Sonar Cards application, which then lead into creating the YouTube channel where he shares his expertise and some installations to help others. He was the NYTBF Angler of the Year multiple times, has won the NYTBF State Championship multiple times, and has qualified for the National TBF Championship, both as a boater and as a co-angler. He mainly fishes the MILF Toyota Series, an occasional BFL, and other tournaments.
