Beginner Lake Erie Walleye Fishing Clinic

The Western NY Walleye Club is excited to offer a Lake Erie Walleye Fishing Clinic on Sunday, February 16 during the Greater Niagara Fishing Expo 2025. This school is taught by members of the Western NY Walleye Club with years of experience in all aspects of fishing eastern Lake Erie for Walleye. The focus of this school is to provide beginner and intermediate anglers with the knowledge to catch more Lake Erie Walleye.
This Clinic covers the following:

  • Basic Boat Setup (16–24 ft)
  • Understanding Walleye
  • Basic Electronics
  • Basic Gear and Equipment 
  • How to Use Bottom Bouncers, Lead Core, Divers, and Long Lines
  • Understanding the Impacts of Speed, Temperature, Currents, and Wind
  • Thermocline and Bait
  • Where to Fish in Spring, Summer, and Fall
  • Tackle and Lures (Worm Harnesses, Stick Baits, and Spoons)
  • Planning Your Trip
  • Safety On the Water
  • Proper Fish Handling, including Catch and Release



Registration Information
While admission to this school is free with general admission to the Expo, pre-registration is required to ensure a productive, hands-on learning environment for all students. Seating is limited and will be closed when the class reaches capacity. The school will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Registration also includes admission to the Expo on Sunday, February 16.
