Barb fished a lot as a kid but DID NOT fish for almost all my adult life (I was a dairy farmer). She
started fishing after we sold the cows, quickly got involved with B.A.S.S./started participating in bass tournaments/got invited to be the NY BASS Nation Conservation Director in 2010, and have held the position from 2010 to present day (about 12 years)
During those years, I have received a few awards from BASS for Conservation Director achievements. I have also pioneered/encouraged/ promoted the fish saving technique of barotrauma relief'. This is a very necessary tournament tactic if one is going to hold fish in a livewell for any length of time.
I also developed a kit "Barbs Best Fizz Kit" for use out on the water at catch time that specifically addresses the issue of barotrauma.
I have also been the 'official' barotrauma relief trainer for the BASS Elite anglers for at least 4 years during their events up on the St Lawrence/Lake Ontario.
